Urban Street Fair brings art, fashion show and even a mermaid to Mount Clemens
With the festival season in full summer swing, it’s time for a little something different in downtown Mount Clemens.
Next up is the return of the Urban Street Fair, featuring a vibrant vendor market, fashion show, art demonstrations, food trucks and more in a one-day event coming this Saturday, June 8.
New this year will be a fashion show on the main stage at 3:15 p.m. The Bohemian Goat and Max & Ollie’s Vintage Boutique will be supplying the fashions and accessories for over 15 models.
And there’s even a mermaid scheduled to appear.
“Downtown Mount Clemens is comprised mainly of small independent businesses, and the Urban Street Fair reinforces our ongoing efforts to expand and strengthen our local economy,” said Michelle Weiss, Downtown Mount Clemens’ retail coordinator.
Weiss said a wide variety of vendors, products and services will be represented, including:
- Sewcial Anxiety – one-of-a-kind garments and vintage materials
- Sophies Crystals – wire-wrapped crystal and novelty jewelry
- Raggedy Bags – handcrafted leather, suede and denim items
- Evey Parker’s Out of This World Confections – freeze dried confections and candy
- 333 Gallery – acrylic/oil paintings, tile coasters, and more
- Fox Art Designs – laser cut and hand assembled items
- Mountain Hippie Customs – tie-dye clothing, paintings, and more
- The Bohemian Goat – curated artisan products
- 3 Wishes Crafts – candles, wax melts, home fragrances products
- Unique Writing Instruments – wood and acrylic pens, mechanical pencils and more
- Motown Mermaid – guest interaction, story telling, photo ops.
Other vendors include a henna artist, face painting, glitter tattoos, and permanent jewelry.
The entertainment includes The Banana Band on the main stage at 11 a.m., followed by Deegan Godin at 12:30 p.m., The Goats of Bohemia at 2 p.m. and Slot Rods at 6 p.m. The music is sponsored by the Bohemian Goat, Urban Street Fair and the Mount Clemens DDA.
There also will be food trucks in addition to the downtown’s collection of bars, diners, and restaurants to stop in for a quick drink or bite to eat.
The Urban Street Fair will be set up on N. Main Street between New and Market streets. Hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
