Veteran producer Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment has been in the news off late due to reports of a debt of Rs 250 crore and multiple pleas of unpaid employees. It was also reported the cast and many members of the crew are yet to be paid for their dud Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The Economic Times has now reported the production house made Rs 8 crore profit amid a revenue of Rs 58 crore for the financial year 2023-24. In the previous financial year, while their revenues were Rs. 46.6 crores, their profit was Rs. 2.86 crores.

 ?

Bhagnani was born in Kolkata and began his career as a builder in the construction business. He ventured into film production with David Dhawan’s 1995 hit Coolie No. 1 and went on to produce films like Hero No. 1, Biwi No. 1, Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Om Jai Jagdish, Deewanapan, and Ghost. His reported net worth is around Rs 2500 crore.

He launched his son Jackky Bhagnani with the 2009 dud Kal Kissne Dekha and made further films like Faltu, Ajab Gazabb Love, Rangrezz, Youngistaan, and Welcome To Karachi with him.

Finally addressing the swirling rumors about unpaid dues, producer prioritized crew well-being and said that the incredible support of long-time collaborator Akshay Kumar has given them confidence.

The superstar, who was the leading man of their last film 
Bade Miya Chote Miyan,
 had a meeting with Jackky Bhagnani and has asked for his payment to be put on hold until the entire cast and crew has been paid.

He has insisted that his payments be placed on hold until every single crew member working on our projects receive their full and final payment.
