Versusia revealed as Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising’s next DLC character

The developers behind Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising took to the Evo 2024 stage just a few minutes ago to run their special panel for tournament goers. Fortunately, us watching from home were also able to catch the action thanks to the panel being live streamed, and during the presentation the hosts officially revealed the next DLC character coming to the game.

Cygames unveiled newcomer Versusia as Rising’s next DLC fighter. This contender is an original character from Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising’s story mode, and today we learned more about her.

Though we didn’t get a full-on gameplay reveal or trailer for Versusia, Cygames did present a few slides with details about her to give her a proper introduction. Apparently, this fighter is the god of destruction, and her official description reads as follows:

“Versusia is an amalgamation of the divine and mortal — the god of destruction manifested in human flesh, indifferent to the Sky Realm and the lives that dwell within. Her purpose is clear: to reset a world plagued by distortions.

“Those who would defy her are met with a destructive fate as she mercilessly purges all who stand in her path,” the description concludes.

Cygames also shared some concept art for the upcoming DLC combatant. This gives us a full look at her design, where we can see prominent features such as three large horns on her head, long, flowing hair, and a large tail on display.

Back in May, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising saw the release of its 1.40 update. This added DLC character Beatrix to the playable roster, as well as a handful of balance changes.

Versusia will be joining the fight in a similar fashion with the 1.50 update, which will also come packed with a variety of new additions.

When 1.50 rolls out, the top 10 ranked players for each character will be rewarded with a new Grand Master Rank online. In addition to this, connection status for lobbies and disconnect penalties for rage quitters will also be implemented.

Character Pass 1 features a total of six DLC characters including Lucilius, 2B, Vane, Beatrix, Versusia, and one more fighter to be announced. At this time, we do not have a release date for Versusia or the 1.50 patch, though she is currently playable on the Evo 2024 show floor.
