Veteran sportscaster Lance Allan named sports director at WDJT-TV (Channel 58)
Veteran sportscaster Lance Allan, who was let go this summer after nearly 30 years at WTMJ-TV (Channel 4), is joining Milwaukee’s WDJT-TV (Channel 58) as sports director.
Channel 58 posted on its website Monday morning that Allan will start his new gig Dec. 1.
Sharing the news on Facebook, Allan thanked Channel 58 for the opportunity.
“This state is in my blood & DNA. For 28 years Southeastern Wisconsin is my community,” Allan wrote. “It’s more than talk. Thank you @CBS58 for the faith & trust.”
In April, Allan shared the news on social media that Channel 4 “has decided to let me go — and actually lop a year off my contract.” He remained at the station through August.
A Rice Lake native and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Allan joined Channel 4 as a sports anchor in 1996.
Allan’s new boss at Channel 58 should know him pretty well. News Director Jessie Garcia spent more than 20 years as a sports reporter and anchor at Channel 4 before joining Channel 58 in 2021.
