VetFest brings together vendors, food, live entertainment to benefit veterans

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) – Town Square Park hosted a big event Saturday for Pine Belt veterans and their families.

The third annual “VetFest” had nearly 50 vendors, showcasing products and services for the veteran community.

“It’s a conveyor belt of knowledge,” said James Storozuk, one of the veterans attending the event. “All of the information is at your fingertips for all these veterans to have. Any missteps along their journey, all the answers are here for them.”

Several veteran-owned businesses also were featured.

The event also offered live music and displays of various military vehicles.

“The whole concept behind VetFest was to get out into the community and let everyone know, especially veterans, what businesses, what services and what opportunities veterans have in the local community and this is one way that we come out and celebrate,” said Mark Jordan, co-chairman of VetFest 2024.

The event also honored David Collins of Sumrall, a 101-year-old veteran of the United States Army who served during World War Two.
