Video released of suspect in tourist attack near World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta

The Atlanta Police Department has released photos and video of the man they believe assaulted a tourist who was chaperoning a group of sixth graders at the World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta in November.

Police say the man approached the woman and punched her in the face, causing her to lose consciousness and sustain significant injuries.

FOX 5 Atlanta spoke to the husband of the tourist shortly after the attack.

Savannah resident Tim Griffis said he was struggling to come to grips with what happened to his wife.

“This person just appeared. It happened so fast,” Griffis told FOX 5 Atlanta. “No conversation, no words. He just came out and hit her in the jaw … she has multiple broken bones in her jaw.”

The unprovoked attack occurred at 11:30 a.m. with plenty of witnesses present.

Atlanta PD says the man appears to be in his mid-twenties to mid-thirties and is between 5-feet-5-inches and 5-feet-7-inches tall. He was clean-shaven at the time and had short, spiky hair.
