Vietnam Airlines recently acquired its first Airbus A320neo, marking the start of three such deliveries scheduled for this year. This acquisition is particularly significant amidst a global shortfall in aircraft availability, exacerbated by engine recalls.

The state-of-the-art Airbus A320neo is equipped with advanced engines that offer substantial improvements: 16% better fuel efficiency, 75% less noise, and emissions cut by half compared to older models.

Configured with 182 seats across two classes—eight in Business and 174 in Economy—the aircraft boasts enhanced comfort features including high-quality upholstery, seats with a 28-29 inch pitch, a five-inch recline, and a cutting-edge wireless in-flight entertainment system. These improvements are designed to enhance the travel experience while maintaining a commitment to environmental sustainability.

The deployment of the A320neo underscores Vietnam Airlines’ dedication to updating its fleet and boosting its operational capabilities to cater to the surge in travel over the summer. It will primarily operate on domestic circuits, including routes from Hanoi to Dalat and Phu Quoc, as well as from Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa and Chu Lai.

This summer, the new A320neo planes are expected to add nearly 40,000 seats during peak times and provide 300,000 more in the latter half of the year.

In addition, Vietnam Airlines is set to expand its fleet further with the arrival of new Boeing 787-10s, the largest aircraft in the Dreamliner series and a significant addition to the carrier’s lineup.

Continuously striving to uplift service standards and fleet quality, Vietnam Airlines aims to enhance passenger convenience and comfort across all touchpoints of the travel experience.

As the national airline of Vietnam and a proud member of the Skyteam Alliance, Vietnam Airlines connects a vast network of 100 routes covering 21 domestic and 29 international destinations, linking Vietnam with some of the world’s most significant markets.
