Vikala and Sandalphon announced for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Versusia gameplay trailer revealed
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is approaching the end of its first season of content, but it’s not done yet — and there’s more on the horizon too.
Following the conclusion of their finals at Evo 2024 today, Cygames revealed Vikala as the last character of their season pass for Granblue Rising along with Sandalphon for Character Pass 2.
On top of that, the publisher also gave fans a full gameplay trailer for the previously revealed Versusia plus more details about what’s going to be included in the Version 1.50 patch.
Versusia is an extremely tall character standing even above the likes of Vaseraga and Beelzebub, who fights using a variety of different magic abilities to attack from range as well as her tail and extra arms.
Version 1.50 for Granblue will also come packing new story episodes, a new stage, balance changes for every character, the new Grand Master rank, new online lobby mini-games, a new Grand Bruise! game mode, a new battle pass and more.
Versusia and the massive new update are scheduled to release on August 20, 2024.
Following her, the mouse maiden Vikala is set to close out the first season of content in October.
They’ll join Lucilius, Nier Automata’s 2B, Beatrix and Vane to complete the game’s first year of content.
Vikala is one of the Twelve Divine Generals like Anila based on the Chinese Zodiac with her sign obviously being that of the rat.
She can summon rats to aid her in the original Granblue and also fights using a large clawed trap on a chain, which is technically classified as an axe.
Without her ears, however, Vikala loses all of her confidence and becomes all but useless in battle.
Sandalphon has long been one of the most requested characters for Granblue Versus, and he’ll finally be coming to the fighting game in the second season pass, which likely won’t begin until 2025.
But this also at least confirms that support for Rising will continue for the foreseeable future.
We don’t get to see any gameplay for Vikala or Sandalphon, but they do give fans brief teasers of what they’re going to look like in the game.
