ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Everyone wants to have the perfect summer trips, but life’s little challenges can take those adventures in unexpected directions.

Nancy McGehee is a Hospitality and Tourism Management professor at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business. She joined Here @ Home to encourage people to embrace serendipity of travel and give yourself space to explore.

McGehee also offered money-saving tips by reminding people that local adventures close to home can be just as fun and fulfilling as travel beyond Southwest Virginia.

Additionally, tools like Artificial Intelligence or apps like Air BnB can give you ideas for your itinerary that might go beyond your original plans.
