Vote here for Upstate high school boys athlete of the week
Here are the finalists for Upstate high school boys athlete of the week from April 15-21.
They are listed in alphabetical order. Polls will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday and multiple votes are allowed. Coaches are encouraged to nominate top performers each week by email or direct message on X, formerly Twitter, to @toddshanesySHJ.
Last week’s fan favorite was Crescent baseball player Brody Linker with 66 percent of the vote.
Carson Boleman, Southside Christian: Boleman struck out 11 in five innings of a 9-1 baseball win against St. Joseph’s, allowing one hit with no walks and no earned runs. At the plate, he was 2-for-2 and drove in a run.
Christian Carbonell, Greenville: Carbonell had four goals and an assist as Greenville lacrosse beat Eastside, 14-10, in the Class AAAA Upper State semifinals.
Smith Darby, J.L. Mann: Darby scored three goals in a 4-1 soccer win against Daniel.
Reid Feldman, St. Joseph’s: Feldman scored three goals in a 5-1 soccer win against Eastside.
Harrison Finney, Mauldin: Finney had two goals and three assists as Mauldin lacrosse beat Boiling Springs, 14-6, in the Class AAAAA Upper State semifinals.
Raheim Harris, Spartanburg: Harris won the 100 meters (10.62) and was second in the 200 meters (21.29) at the Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic Elite statewide track and field meet in Seneca.
Peyton Lawter, Chesnee: Lawter shot 68 to win medalist honors at the Spartanburg County golf tournament by five shots.
Bennett Scaletta, T.L. Hanna: Scaletta broke his own school record with an 8-under-par 64 at the Anderson Brothers Invitational golf tournament in Florence.
