Here’s how Jackson Chourio feels about the support he’s receives from Brewers fans. Chourio spoke after game 2 of the Wild Card series in Milwaukee.
Before 2024, they weren’t making plays for a Wisconsin sports teams, but now they’re near and dear to your heart. Which one has provided the biggest impact?

Just 20 years old, Chourio signed an eight-year extension worth $82 million before his first big-league at-bat, and it’s already becoming easy to think of it as a bargain.
The third-place finisher in the NL Rookie of the Year voting shook off a slow star to post a .791 OPS, become the youngest player in MLB history to post a 20-20 season (21 homers, 22 stolen bases) and rifled two postseason homers that helped the Milwaukee Brewers rally to win Game 2 of the NLDS and force a Game 3.
Charlie Fuerbringer, Wisconsin volleyball
A third-team All-American as just a freshman, the setter from California helped the Badgers to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, consistent with their top-10 standing most of the season.
She averaged close to 11 assists per set, third in the Big Ten, and also racked up 2.50 digs per set, plus a total of 63 kills and 37 aces for good measure.
The former Boston College head football coach was hired as Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator in 2024, helping to lift the Packers from a bottom-third defense to a top-10 defense and give Green Bay an added dimension with the playoffs looming.
Hafley’s team ranks among the best in the league in turnovers forced and has allowed 20 points per game.
Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers
The bruising running back has been a revelation for Green Bay. He was a surprise free-agent signing, taking the place of popular incumbent Aaron Jones, and has been a workhorse, with more than 1,200 rushing yards and a career-best 15 touchdowns.
Xavier McKinney, Green Bay Packers
Another free-agent acquisition, McKinney has more than solidified the Packers secondary. The 26-year-old safety has seven interceptions and 10 passes defended, putting himself in some Defensive Player of the Year conversations.
Tobias Myers, Milwaukee Brewers
Myers was a great story, a player far enough off the depth chart that he was among the first cuts in spring training. But not only did he make it to the big leagues, he made an impact, posting a 9-6 record in his rookie year with a 3.00 ERA and a WHIP of 1.174.
Milwaukee trusted him enough to start the do-or-die Game 3 of the NLDS, where he allowed just two hits and no runs in five innings.
John Tonje, Wisconsin Badgers
The transfer from Missouri came out of nowhere to average 19 points per game for the Badgers after averaging 2.6 over eight games in an injury-riddled season the year before.
His games this season included 33 points against Pittsburgh and 41 against No. 9 Arizona, flirting with the school record of 43 points by Frank Kaminsky.
