Wachusett and St. Paul baseball renew rivalry

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Wachusett and St. Paul baseball teams renewed their rivalry Monday at Tivnan Field, as they played a doubleheader and split.  

The first game went nine innings with Wachusett winning 6-5. Wachusett struck first with single runs in the second, third and fourth inning to take a 3-0 lead but St. Paul answered with three in the bottom of the fourth to tie it.  

In the bottom of the seventh Colon Kreuz had an RBI single to force extra innings. In the top of the ninth, it was Caden Lane scoring the winning run for Wachusett. 

Ethan DiVito homered for the Mountaineers while Nate Roy was 3-4 with three RBI. For the Knights, Kreuz was 3-3. 

The starting pitchers for both sides were tough, Matt Moreno for Wachusett and Nick Fennucio for St. Paul.
