Walmart has recently announced the rollout of a brand new type of shopping cart in Louisiana made by a company called Caroline’s Cart the likes of which you’ve probably never seen.

These new carts are beginning to be rolled out in 11 states so far, including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.

Caroline’s Carts Now Available At Louisiana Walmart Stores

Caroline’s Cart is a specially designed shopping cart available at Walmart and some other retail locations to help families with special needs.

Created by Drew Ann Long, a mother whose daughter Caroline has Rett syndrome, these carts make shopping trips easier for caregivers who have children or adult family members with mobility challenges.

The design of Caroline’s Cart allows the passenger to sit comfortably in the front while the caregiver pushes the cart.

Features like a secure safety harness and additional space for grocery storage ensure a safer, more inclusive shopping experience.

Walmart has begun offering Caroline’s Carts in many of its stores in response to customer demand and as part of its commitment to accessibility.

The carts are typically located near other accessible options, such as electric scooters, and can be requested if not immediately visible.

“Cedric Clark, executive vice president of store operations at Walmart says ‘Equipping our stores with Caroline’s Carts provides some relief to parents and caregivers who need this tool and know it’s available at their Walmart.

Whether they’re caring for someone with a disability or a temporary injury, the carts support our customers when and how they need it every time they come through our doors.'”

These carts have made it significantly easier for families and caregivers to shop together, enhancing inclusivity and accessibility.

According to KXAN each Walmart Supercenter is going have two Caroline’s Carts available, while Neighborhood Markets “will have at least one for a nationwide total of about 8,000 carts.”

Any store can actually call 1-800-351-CART to request a Caroline’s Cart at their location.
