Walmart slashes corporate jobs, ends remote work option
Walmart’s corporate workforce is being cut back and those working remote have been told to return to offices for work.
In addition to the staffing cutbacks some employees are also being asked to relocate from smaller offices to bigger corporate hubs, according to a USA Today report.
Not all remote work is being eliminated as some workers will be able to work remote part-time, according to the news outlet citing a Bloomberg report.
The news comes on the heels of Walmart announcing it was planning to open 100 stores by 2029 and remodel nearly a 1,000 locations worldwide.
In April the mega retailer announced it is teaching store managers compassion during a training program held at its headquarters. About 2,000 leaders participate weekly program, called Manager Academy, that began two years ago.
