Wanted man arrested after standoff at Macon business

MACON, Ga. (WGXA)- A wanted man is now under arrest after Bibb County deputies say he held them in a standoff at a Macon business this morning.

Just before 9:30 Wednesday morning, deputies received a call about a man trespassing at a commercial business in the 4000 block of Broadway.

When deputies arrived, they said the man barricaded himself inside a trailer unit.

Law enforcement identified him as Christopher Todd Barrow, 49, of Macon.

Deputies reported Barrow had a warrant for his arrest from Toombs County and he refused to exit the trailer.Additionally, they said Barrow threatened to shoot deputies if they tried to come inside the trailer to remove him.

Members of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, K-9 Interdiction, Hostage Negotiators and investigators all responded to the scene.

Once they determined Barrow was by himself inside the trailer, SWAT team members moved in and arrested him. The sheriff’s office said they did find a gun in the trailer.

Paramedics treated Barrow for a minor injury on-scene.

Barrow was taken to the Bibb County jail, where he was charged with terroristic acts and threats and the Toombs County warrant was served.
