New Delhi: A video featuring Indian Army Major General Prasanna Joshi has become widely popular on X, showcasing the 56-year-old effortlessly completing 25 pull-ups without pausing.

The video, shared by retired Lieutenant Colonel JS Sodhi on X, captures Major General Joshi in his uniform as he strides to a pull-up station in a gym. There, he effortlessly completes 25 reps of the exercise, eliciting applause from the young Army personnel present.

“Salute and respect to the physical fitness of Major General Prasanna Joshi of the Indian Army. No wonder the Indian Army has been rated as the finest fighting force in the world by the German publication Statista in October 2022. Proud of the Indian Army. Jai Hind,” said Lt Colonal JS Sodhi in his X post.

Vinod Kumar, a veteran of the Indian Air Force, said he was inspired to start going to the gym after watching the video.

“One more reason why Indian army is rated among the world top fighting formations. Major General Prasanna Joshi… I am ashamed and headed for the gym now,” Kumar said in a post.

Lt Gen Kamal Jit Singh (Veteran) said in a post on X, “#IronGeneral Maj Gen Prasanna Joshi, GOC 51 Sub Area shows the way.”

Another user, Rahul Thapa, said, “Major General Prasanna Joshi’s physical fitness is a reflection of the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to excellence. We salute his dedication and service to the nation.”

Pull-ups are regarded as one of the most challenging bodyweight exercises because they require substantial upper body and core strength. They involve lifting your entire body weight through a full range of motion, which many find difficult.
