WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Security footage from a west Wichita business shows thieves throwing a rock through its glass front door and breaking in. In a matter of seconds, the men left with some keys in a lockbox.

The video from Sunday night at Slusser Automotive captured the first of two consecutive nights in which the thieves broke into the business. The owner said the men tried to use keys to get into some cars on the lot but weren’t able to get away with anything. They showed up again on Monday night with the keys and managed to drive off with one vehicle, damaging a fence at a neighboring business in the process.

“For a small business guy, that’s catastrophic,” Slusser Automotive Owner Steve Slusser said of the crimes. “A front door is [$500], every key is [$200 to $300]. They stole 10 sets of keys.”

Slusser said he believes the men staked out the store before and knew where to go to find the keys.
