Wayne Township Trustee’s ‘Family Fun Day’ presents scholarships and entertainment
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Wayne Township is bringing back “Family Fun Day” with a variety of events and awards on Saturday.
The event will be at 320 East Superior St. from 2-4 p.m. Family Fun Day will be inside Wayne Township’s Trustee office and outside in their parking lots. Barr Street will be closed off for the event.
It will include bounce houses, performances, dunk tanks, face painting, and food and drinks. Citizens can attend with no admission fee.
Austin Knox and his staff plan to announce its second “Wayne Township Trustee Office Person of the Year Award.”
The staff will also award three scholarships to high school seniors who plan to further their education. The $500 Recognizing Achievement Award will be given to the winning students.
Another 13 students, Juniors in high school and under, will be given internet-ready tablets and certificates for their achievements.
The Family Fun Day is one of the high points of our year because we get to give kids and families a few hours of food, fun and entertainment in a safe and healthy way, along with rewarding our academic and community winners.”
