Waynesville holds first-ever job fair specifically for teens
WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The Town of Waynesville held its first-ever job fair just for teenagers.
More than 50 teens came through the doors of the Waynesville Rec Center Friday, June 14, to learn firsthand what it takes to land a summer job in and around Waynesville.
The town was also there to help them navigate the job hiring process.

Town personnel say this kind of event benefits the whole community.
“We can walk them through the process of employment. We can introduce them to different career paths,” said Page McCurry, human resources director for the Town of Waynesville. “We can also set them up with mentors — really help them to decide what they want to do with their future and put them on the right path to achieve their goals.”
The town hopes to fill all of its summer jobs and make this an annual event for years to come.
