Last weekend was ugly for North Carolina after allowing 70 points to James Madison. After some uncertainty Head Coach Mack Brown is back in the saddle with a massive opportunity to right the ship against UNC’s bitter rival. After all, North Carolina has defeated Duke in five straight years and it is notoriously known that “Carolina Blue” fills up more of Wallace Wade Stadium than Blue Devils fans.

One big thing factors into North Carolina being plus-money, Jacolby Criswell, the 3rd string QB, will likely take the majority of the snaps for the Tar Heels due to a depleted depth chart at the Quarterback position. Last week in replacement of Conner Harrell, Criswell threw for 475 yards (28/48), with 3 TD, 2 INT.

This game will probably result in a shootout but if UNC maintains a neutral/positive game script they should be able to rely on an elite run game. RB Omarion Hampton has six touchdowns on the year with 555 rushing yards (6.5 YPC).

Dundee’s Dog: SAM HOUSTON Moneyline +205

(-9.5) Texas State vs Sam Houston (O/U 55.5)

A college football clash of styles will be taking place inside Houston Texans’ NRG Stadium. Texas State will try to air the ball as they are averaging 8.1 yards per pass attempt this season. Meanwhile Sam Houston enters this game holding opponents to just 180.8 passing yards per game. The Bearkats are going to pound the rock and shorten this game.

Dog #3: HOUSTON Moneyline +590

(-15.5) Iowa State at Houston (O/U 43.5)

The 43.5 total indicates a low scoring as both offenses have not been firing on all cylinders so far this season. This play is more of a fade on Iowa State in a road game than it is believing in Houston. Iowa State has kicked around tomato cans and barely escaped against Iowa to remain unbeaten this year.

Even after playing North Dakota, Arkansas State, and offensive powerhouse Iowa the Cyclones’ defense remains 76th in overall success rate allowed. Offenses are rushing for 134 yards per game which puts Iowa State’s 97th in rushing success rate allowed.

Houston has a pair of running backs (Reshaun Sanford II and Stacy Sneed) currently averaging over 5 yards per carry. The Cougars may be able to threaten ISU in a low scoring game just like Iowa did a few weeks ago.
