A Swifties alert. Every 13th of the month through October is a Tay Day with a Swift-Tea at The Brown Palace Hotel, starting this Saturday. Why 13? Her birthday and her first album went gold in 13 weeks. The hotel is known for its special teas and for this one, an Afternoon Tea, everyone is invited to dress in favorite Taylor Swift attire, enjoy “fearless” pastries and drinks, listen to ERAS music and play trivia for prizes. It’s a whole finals weekend, Thursday through Saturday, for jeans, boots and cowboy hats as crowds cheer on the best of those rugged cowboys and cowgirls at the NFR Open at Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo in Colorado Springs. Evenings, matinees Friday and Saturday. Union Station turns 10 with three days and free nights of celebration for the community, Friday to Sunday. From  5-9 p.m. Friday, is Neighborhood Night on the Plaza with a concert by Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, DJ music and drink and food specials. A 38-year community cultural celebration of the arts, the Colorado Black Arts Festival, fills City Park West Friday to Sunday.  The free weekend includes music, visual artists, food courts, performances and a children’s pavilion. colbaf.org.
