Kumar Abhinav, a 35-year-old Senior Data Scientist, is one such individual whose journey showcases the power of consistency, determination, and professional guidance. Starting point

Kumar’s journey began when he started experiencing digestion issues, snoring, and low energy levels. A diagnosis revealed that he had grade 2 fatty liver, but without a clear treatment plan from doctors, he felt uncertain about how to move forward. Though his BMI did not categorize him as overweight, he decided to lose weight, hoping it would bring some relief. When it didn’t, he sought professional help from his health coach, Shweta from Vibe in Mind, Body, Soul, which became the turning point that transformed his life completely.

Lifestyle changes

Kumar realized that his journey would require significant lifestyle changes. Here’s how he made it happen:
Diet overhaul
Kumar began by eating healthier, reducing sugar intake, and cutting out processed and outside food. He also adopted the habit of eating early dinners and going to bed early, aligning with a healthier routine.

Workout routine
Initially, he focused on home-based workouts. Gradually, he incorporated both home and gym exercises, emphasizing a mix of regular walking and dumbbell training. Committed to consistency, he worked out three times a week and prioritized rest days for recovery.

Mindset shift
Kumar’s transformation was not just physical but also mental. He shifted his approach to food, no longer eating for emotional comfort but to nourish his body and mind.
Diet plan
Kumar’s diet was centered around home-cooked meals, fresh fruits, and vegetables. His health coach advised him to follow the circadian rhythm, which emphasized eating meals at the right time.
“My focus was on my nutrition,” Kumar says. “I had a balanced diet consisting of protein, fats, carbs, fibers, minerals, and vitamins.” By being mindful of his portions and sticking to balanced meals, he saw significant progress in his health and energy levels.

Overcoming challenges

Like any fitness journey, Kumar’s transformation was not without its challenges. However, the shift in his mindset played a crucial role in overcoming obstacles. He gained confidence, both physically and mentally, and stopped using food as an emotional crutch. “This shift in mindset has improved my metabolic health and overall well-being,” he reflects.

Kumar credits his family for their unwavering support throughout his journey. His motivation came from wanting to play with his child with the same energy and enthusiasm. “My wife was my rock. I couldn’t have imagined this journey without her. She supported me every step of the way,” he shares.

Kumar’s hard work and consistency paid off. He went from 85 kg to 70 kg, transforming not just his physique but his overall outlook on health. “I want everyone to taste the secret sauce that’s called health,” he says. “Exercise and nutrition count for little if you don’t have the correct mindset. The goal must be iron-clad, and if you want to shift a significant amount of weight like me, you’re going to have to make sacrifices.”
