WeShoes brings German fashion brand Kapten&Son to Israel

WeShoes is closing out a successful retail year in 2024, marked by significant growth and the opening of 20 new stores, with plans for over 15 more to follow. Adding to its impressive lineup, which includes popular names like Crocs, Hoka, Blundstone, Kånken bags, Desigual, Delsey Paris, and Zero, WeShoes now welcomes the German brand Kapten&Son. Founded about a decade ago by two students from Münster, Germany, Kapten&Son initially specialized in customizable, dynamic watches sold online.

Over time, Kapten&Son expanded its product line to include bags, with this category now accounting for approximately 71% of its sales. In 2023 alone, the company sold over 200,000 bags, averaging a sale every three minutes. In addition to bags, the brand’s range includes sunglasses and watches.

Kapten&Son’s products are vegan and environmentally friendly, emphasizing innovation, functionality, practicality, personalization, sustainability, and high quality. All products are manufactured to European standards, in factories operating according to European guidelines.

Kapten&Son primarily focuses on bags and backpacks designed for everyday use, travel, work, leisure, and hiking. Their products are made from durable, scratch-resistant materials, and while they are not machine-washable, they can be hand-cleaned. Detailed cleaning instructions will soon be available via a QR code on the products. The brand has a strong presence in Germany and Australia and is expanding into markets like the UK, Belgium, Italy, and now Israel.

“We are thrilled to exclusively bring Kapten&Son to Israel,” said Zohar Benzino, Chief Marketing Officer at WeShoes. “This leading German brand, inspired by Scandinavian style, focuses on high-quality fashion accessories, particularly bags with a functional approach. Kapten&Son’s primary audience is women aged 25-45, though the brand is expanding its range to appeal to men and those seeking gender-neutral products. We identified a demand among Israeli students and tech professionals for a stylish yet practical bag made with high-quality materials. We will launch sales in December 2024 with attractive introductory prices, and we’re confident the Israeli market will find the brand both appealing and useful.”
