West Ham receive massive injury boost regarding the fitness of star player

In the third match day of the Premier League, West Ham faced Premier League Champions Manchester City in a big home fixture at the London Stadium. Aiming to take some points from this match, West Ham tried their best but an Erling Haaland hat trick gave Pep Guardiola’s side the 3-1 win over the Hammers. The defence struggled to keep away City from making big chances throughout the game, but, goalkeeper Alphonse Areola made a few huge saves in the first half to keep the score at 2-1.

However, after making a massive save on Kevin De Bruyne’s attempt on goal, the French goalkeeper appeared to be in some discomfort. At the start of the second half, Lukasz Fabianski came in to replace Areola, which sparked further speculations that Areola got injured while making the save in the first half. In his three seasons playing for West Ham, Alphonse Areola has been a key player, making several big saves which has made him the first choice goalkeeper in the Hammers squad.

Also, Areola was brilliant last season as he kept several clean sheets and saved two penalties to keep West Ham at ninth, who might have finished at twelfth in the Premier League considering their underwhelming defence towards the second half of last season. Thus, the former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper is a star player for Julen Lopetegui’s side who are aiming for a top six finish in this league season. Now, West Ham have received a massive transfer boost regarding Areola, as according to the Daily Mail, the 31-year-old will return to full fitness very quickly as France national team have named Areola for their matches against Austria and Belgium this month in the international break.

This is a massive boost for West Ham as Areola will feature for the Hammers in their next league match against Fulham after the international break. Also, West Ham would want that their players will avoid any injury while representing their national teams this month. Meanwhile, West Ham are considering making a few additions from the free transfers market which is open until 14th September.
