Westrock Coffee Company opens in Conway, set to bring in 900 jobs

If you are a coffee or tea lover, you’re in luck.

The Westrock Coffee Company has opened its doors in Conway making it the largest integrated beverage facility in the United States.

Over 300 million dollars were invested into the new 570,000-square-foot facility. The grand opening for the facility was held on Thursday, and many were in attendance to celebrate the city of Conway’s exciting addition.

“It is just an incredible victory for the community and for the state honestly,” said Brad Lacy, CEO and President of the Conway Chamber of Commerce.

Conway is growing in many ways and more people are moving into the city.

“We are the fastest growing city in Arkansas for two years in a row,” said Bart Castleberry, Mayor of Conway. “As a city, we are trying to build a city that people want to be a part of, that has the walk ability, the trails, the biking, swimming, soccer, baseball. We just want folks to want to live here. We want your grandkids to stay here, too.”

Westrock Coffee Company is currently running at a 75% capacity, but in just a few months the company will ultimately bring around 900 jobs to the city of Conway.

Nearly 200 people have already moved to Arkansas for the new job.

“I think we are going to continue to see more and more of that because this is a world-class operation,” said Lacy. “Although it’s really hard sometimes to believe, in just a few months we will be the center of coffee, tea, and extract production in the United States.”

The founders of Westrock Coffee Company and Governor Sanders shared the stage on Thursday’s grand opening to give their own remarks about the progress.

They took a moment to toast, with a coffee in hand, to the accomplishments and Arkansas-made products that many are already using now.

“We do drink Westrock Coffee at City Hall,” said Mayor Castleberry. “We are glad to have them.”
