What’s the value of Purdue University athletics?

In comparison to other Big Ten schools, the Boilermakers are near the bottom of the league.

But nationally, Purdue’s valuation ranks the Boilermakers 36th among schools with FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) programs, per a CNBC report ranking the top 75 college sports programs.

Per the report, Purdue sports has an estimated worth of $567 million, which ranks it 14th among Big Ten schools ahead of only Northwestern, Maryland, UCLA and Rutgers. As a conference, the Big Ten is second in overall worth at $13.2 billion with the Southeastern Conference (SEC), valued at $13.3 billion.

Ohio State has the highest valuation, per the report, at $1.32 billion, and Michigan is fourth at $1.06 billion. The only other college sports programs worth more than $1 billion are Texas ($1.28) and Texas A&M ($1.26).

Purdue ranks third among schools from Indiana behind Notre Dame (No. 6 at $969 million) and Indiana (No. 28, $653 million).
