What we know about shooting inside drug-filled Oakland County business
PONTIAC, Mich. – Two people were shot over the weekend at a drug-filled building in Oakland County.

Where and when?
Oakland County deputies first learned that there had been a shooting at 10:52 p.m. Friday, May 31.
The shooting happened at a business within the Huron Plaza, which is in the 700 block of West Huron Street in Pontiac.
Shooting scene
When police arrived, they said they immediately noticed several bullet holes in the front facade of a business.
There were spent shell casings in the street, and several cars in the parking lot of the business had been struck by gunfire.
Officers went inside the business and found a loaded assault rifle-style magazine, as well as multiple shell casings.
2 people injured
When police entered the building, they first ran into a 23-year-old Pontiac man who was holding an AR-style rifle.
Officers said they told the man to drop his gun, and he complied.
The man had been shot in the back. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for a minor injury, and he’s listed as stable.
As they ventured into a back room of the building, deputies found another 23-year-old Pontiac man. This man had also been shot in the back, but his injury was much more serious, officials said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Drugs found in building
Police said they found a “large amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia” inside the business.
They said the drugs were strewn about the building in “plain view.”
Investigators believe the business was being used as an after-hours meeting spot.
Suspected shooter arrested
As police investigated the shooting, they identified a 28-year-old Pontiac man as a suspect.
The man was taken into custody without incident. He’s being held at the Oakland County Jail, with charges pending.
A drug scale, baggies, and marijuana were found in the man’s car, police said.
