Award season 2025 officially kicks off on Sunday with the 82nd Annual Golden Globes. The show will celebrate television and film creatives in 27 different categories.
The Sooner State will see representation in a new category as the Oklahoma-made “Twisters” was nominated in the box office achievement category.

The 82nd Annual Golden Globes airs on January 5, 2025, at 7 p.m. CT.
Where can I watch the Golden Globes?
The Golden Globes will be aired live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ in the U.S. It’ll be available live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers.
When does the red carpet start for the Golden Globes?
For fans of the red carpet coverage, the live pre-show will begin an hour and a half before the event. Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith and Variety’s Marc Malkin will host the broadcast.
The show starts at 5:30 p.m. CT.
It will stream on Variety, Entertainment Tonight, Women’s Wear Daily, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and other Penske Media platforms.
Twister nominated in new category
Filmed across Oklahoma in 2023, “Twisters” was nominated Monday for a Golden Globe in the cinematic and box office achievement category. It’s the second year for the category at the long-running Golden Globes.
“Twisters” is nominated alongside seven other films that topped the box office this year: The fellow long-awaited legacy sequels “Gladiator II” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the movie musical “Wicked,” the Marvel Cinematic Universe entry “Deadpool & Wolverine,” the animated hit “The Wild Robot,” the creature feature “Alien: Romulus” and the smash Disney/Pixar sequel “Inside Out 2,” which is the top-grossing movie of 2024 to date.
Who is hosting the Golden Globes?
Comedian Nikki Glaser hosts this year’s Golden Globes. Glaser previously starred in Netflix’s “The Roast of Tom Brady” as well as other Comedy Central Roasts like Rob Lowe, Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin.
