When is Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon’s massive Prime Day is coming back and it promises to offer big deals for Prime members.

Now in its 10th year, Prime Day 2024 is expected to be the single biggest sale’s event from Amazon with mega markdowns in all product categories. This traditionally includes top discounts on electronics, home goods, kitchen products, fashion, pet supplies, toys and much more.

Here’s everything we know so far about the highly-anticipated Prime Day 2024.

When is Prime Day 2024?

Amazon has announced that Prime Day 2024 will be held once again in July. However, the retail giant is being tight-lipped about the exact dates of the sale only saying that more details will be released soon.

In past years, Amazon has held Prime Day in mid-July, surrounding its birthday, which falls on July 15. This year we expect a similar pattern with our best estimates placing Prime Day 2024 on July 15-16.

When does Prime Day 2024 start?

While we don’t know exactly what time Prime Day 2024 will start, we do expect Amazon to follow the same schedule as in past years. This would mean that the sale would kickoff at 3 a.m. ET (midnight PT) and run for 48 hours.

What time does Prime Day 2024 end?

If our expected start time aligns with Amazon’s plans, we think Prime Day 2024 will once again end at 3 a.m. ET (midnight PT) on July 16.

This is key as you don’t want to miss any of the deals during this huge Amazon Prime Day as you most-likely won’t see these same low prices for awhile.

What is Prime Day?

Prime Day is the biggest sale’s event Amazon holds for Prime members. The first Prime Day was held in July 2015 to celebrate its Prime members with some of the best deals of the year on their favorite products.

During Prime Day, Amazon typically offers a series of Lightning Deals, where you can score major savings on select products but only for a limited time. These deals are usually dropped all throughout the 48-hour sale, offering even deeper discounts.

Amazon also traditionally features some added benefits during Prime Day, including a $10 Amazon credit for completing certain tasks. In the past, these have included listening to a song on Prime Music, watching a show on Prime Video or borrowing a book from Prime Reading.

Leading up to Prime Day, Amazon typically has early deals, so you don’t have to wait to start scoring big savings before the main event kicks off. These markdowns are usually held a few weeks before Prime Day with big discounts on top products.

Do I need a Prime membership to shop Prime Day 2024?

Most likely you will need a Prime membership to shop Amazon’s Prime Day 2024. In past years, Amazon has required a Prime membership to score the deals from the sale and we suspect this year it will be the same.

An Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 a year and $139 a month. It typically comes with a 30-day trial and includes perks like free shipping, unlimited grocery delivery, access to Amazon Prime, Amazon Music, two-years of Grubhub+ and much more.
