When is College World Series 2024? CWS schedule, TV channels for NCAA baseball championship
Tony Vitello on Tennessee baseball’s experience heading into Evansville super
Tennessee baseball is playing for a third College World Series trip in the past four seasons when it hosts Evansville.
Eight teams are left vying for the 2024 national championship, as the College World Series is set to start on Friday in Omaha, Nebraska.
The field consists of seven nationally seeded teams, with usual powerhouse Florida serving as the lone non-seeded team to make the tournament. No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Kentucky, No. 3 Texas A&M and No. 4 North Carolina also all clinched a spot in the final event.

The field also seemingly pits conference against conference, as there are four SEC programs (Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas A&M and Florida) and four ACC teams (North Carolina, Florida State, NC State and Virginia) at the CWS.
No. 12 Virginia and No. 4 North Carolina will have the honor of kicking off the CWS this season, with their matchup at 2 p.m. ET on Friday.
