Which Mean Girls Character You Are, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Even after two decades, Mean Girls is the pop culture gift that keeps on giving, but the real question is: Are you a Regina, Cady, Karen, or a Gretchen?

Since its premiere in the early 2000s, the iconic comedy has evolved into a multi-platform sensation, spawning a Broadway musical in 2018 and a movie adaptation of the Tony-nominated musical earlier this year. While it’s no secret that the Lindsay Lohan-starring comedy is one of the most relatable and quotable films of our generation, each member of the Plastics has a unique personality type, which also resembles the four elements in astrology: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water.

Similar to the way Regina, Cady, Gretchen, and Karen bring unique attributes to their high school clique, the four elements in astrology can offer insights into the dynamics of our human experience, as well as social interactions.

Fire signs, including Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, are often known for their passionate and competitive nature, while Earth signs, such as Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, prioritize stability, preferring to stay grounded and practical.

Air signs, including Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, thrive in social environments where there is mental stimulation, while Water signs often keep to themselves, given their emotional receptivity and enigmatic nature.

Read on to discover which member of the Plastics most resembles your zodiac sign.

Regina George: Aries, Leo and Sagittarius

Charismatic and confident, Regina George, the Queen Bee of North Shore High, epitomizes the audacity and assertive energy of the Fire signs. She commands attention wherever she goes, effortlessly captivating those around her with her magnetic presence and smoking-hot bad girl aesthetic, just like a Leo would.

In addition to emphasizing the fact that “fetch” is never going to happen, Regina will stop at nothing to reign with unwavering authority, even if that means asserting her dominance by manipulating Aaron and purposely kissing him in front of Cady. Aries play to win, and Regina approaches every challenge with a relentless drive to come out on top.

Regina’s personality is also larger-than-life, mirroring Sagittarius’ sense of grandeur and exuberance, making a bold statement wherever she goes. This mutable Fire sign isn’t afraid to stir up controversy if needed, much like how she raised havoc for her classmates with the Burn Book toward the end of the film.

Cady Heron: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

Initially homeschooled and raised in Africa, Cady Heron possesses many traits associated with the Earth element. Similar to the challenges she experienced adjusting to her new high school life, Earth signs often struggle with change. This is especially true for Taurus, as those born under this sign prefer the comfort and stability that comes with routine. On the dark side, Cady also indulged in her mean girl persona, when she became consumed and fixated by the allure of being popular. This resembles Taurus’ Venusian energy, for better or worse, reminding viewers of the true meaning of fulfillment.

Similar to Virgo, Cady was able to navigate the complexities of high school meticulously, just as this mutable Earth sign carefully analyzes details and approaches tasks with precision. Cady’s revenge plot against Regina can also resemble Virgo, as she methodically and strategically made it a point to collect information in hopes of bringing Queen Bee Regina down.

Capricorn’s stoicism and ruthlessness also resemble Cady’s character, as she was able to maintain her composure in the face of adversity. Also, just as Capricorn is willing to climb the top of the mountain with perseverance and determination, Cady’s involvement in the North Shore mathletes competition demonstrates her commitment to succeed.

Gretchen Wieners: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

They weren’t kidding when they said Gretchen’s hair was full of secrets! Similar to the Air signs, Gretchen Wieners possesses a chatty and social personality, thriving on gossip and information, which proved to be her downfall in the film.

However, Gretchen’s ability to adapt to her surroundings and socially engage with ease resembles that of a Gemini, an Air sign known for its curiosity and versatile nature. On the dark side, sharing what she knows about Regina’s clandestine relationship with Shane Oman, and how they’re hooking up “in the projection room above the auditorium” is also very mercurial and dualistic.

Then again, she’s also very Libra-like in her ability to maintain harmony among the Plastics. Similar to this Venus-ruled sign, Gretchen often acts as a mediator, striving to keep the peace among her peers. Libras are also notorious for being serial daters, similar to Gretchen’s massive crush on Jason.

Gretchen’s insatiable need to fit in can also resemble Aquarius’ desire for community and a sense of belonging.

Karen Smith: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Just like the Water signs, Karen Smith is nurturing and supportive, often providing comfort to her friends in times of need. “Karen often appears as if she’s lost in her own world, but that’s not necessarily the truth.

Karen’s refusal to go out with Regina resembles that of a Cancer and the way this Water sign prefers to stay in their comfort zone. This moon-ruled sign also rules over the chest — and well, Karen claims to be “kinda psychic” when she opens up to Cady, admitting that her “breasts can tell when it’s raining.”

Although Karen crushing on her cousin Seth is considered humorous and somewhat absurd in the film, the “taboo” of her secret feelings can be very Plutonian, resembling Scorpio’s forbidden attractions.

Karen’s spaced-out demeanor is one of her most defining characteristics in the film. She often appears lost in her thoughts, with a dreamy expression and nonsensical comments. While this contributes to the comedy of it all, it’s still very much aligned with Pisces’ planetary ruler, Neptune. In addition to her consistent daydreaming, she often shows moments of compassion as well.
