Whiskies of the World Is Returning to Nashville

There’s no shortage of opportunities to sample American bourbons and ryes at any number of whiskey festivals that visit Nashville. But if you’re looking to discover unusual products from locales like India and Japan, choices are more limited.

That’s where Whiskies of the World fits in. The revealing road show stages events from coast to coast, offering tastes of whiskies that are selected, in part, by a panel of industry professionals. Nashville’s stop on the tour will be on Saturday, June 29, at the Loews Vanderbilt. Showcasing whiskies (and a few rums) from the States and abroad, the event also features master class sessions led by experts to help raise your whiskey IQ in between sampling from a list of close to 100 different spirits.

In addition to products from unconventional distillery centers like Virginia, Arizona, Texas, Florida and Illinois, several Tennessee spirits will be represented at the tasting. Corsair, Uncle Nearest and Roaming Man will pour some tastes you might never have tried before, with the bonus that you’ll be able to purchase your favorites from local liquor stores in the future.

There are two ticketing levels for Whiskies of the World. The $99 general admission ticket includes entry at 6:45 p.m., access to almost all of the samples, light bites and a souvenir tasting glass. For a $150 VIP-level ticket, attendees will gain access to the tasting at 6 p.m., plus a couple of special pours of GlenAllachie 10-Year Cask Strength Batch 8 Single Malt Scotch and Ohishi Tokubetsu Reserve Japanese Whisky that won’t be poured after the VIP period is over.

If this sounds like your kind of evening, purchase your tickets at the Whiskies of the World website.
