Who is Justin Bieber’s former business manager – and why did he fire her?

Lou Taylor is in the headlines again, for all the wrong reasons. According to British media, the Hollywood business manager has been fired by Justin Bieber amid news of her company, Tri Star Sports and Entertainment Group, being named in a damning Diddy lawsuit.
Per the LA Times, one of Taylor’s employees, Robin Greenhill, was listed as Sean Combs’ accountant, and allegedly oversaw payments to sex workers. The claims come from music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who also accused Combs of sexually harassing and drugging him.

Taylor’s business relationship with Bieber reportedly ended on bad terms, and the “Baby” singer has since hired Johnny Depp’s business manager, Edward White, per British media.

As some readers will remember, Taylor was previously accused of being involved in forming Britney Spears’ conservatorship. These are not the only times she’s had bad press either.

Here’s what to know about Lou Taylor.

According to her website, Taylor is the founder and CEO of Tri Star Sports and Entertainment Group, where she works with musicians, actors, entertainers and athletes. Services her firm provides include accounting, financial statement preparation, royalty audits, participation rights audits, tour accounting, production accounting and estate planning. The website notes that Taylor’s goal is to “not only exceed the needs of her clients, but to realise and meet those needs before they even know they have one”.

Taylor has a massive list of celebrity clients on the books. Per US media, her clients have included Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, Priyanka Chopra, Mary J. Blige and Florida Georgia Line.

She was mentioned in Britney and Lynne Spears’ memoirs

Taylor was thrown into the spotlight when reports emerged that Spears was blaming her former business manager for many of her conservatorship-related issues, notes US media. These were exemplified in three bombshell documentaries about Spears’ life, including FX and Hulu’s The New York Times Presents: Controlling Britney Spears, which alleged that Tri Star’s Greenhill secretly monitored the “Everytime” singer’s phone. The company has denied the claim, adds US media.

What’s more, in Lynne Spears’ memoir Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, the author suggested that Taylor was one of the first people to recommend a temporary conservatorship for Britney, per Esquire.

Brit also wrote about Taylor in her bestselling memoir, The Woman in Me. “The conservator of the person is designated to control details of the conservative’s life, like where they live, what they eat, whether they can drive a car, and what they do day to day,” she wrote. “I am convinced that it was all planned, and that my dad and my mum and Lou Taylor were all involved … It felt like my father and Lou’s employee, Robin Greenhill, ruled my life and monitored every move I made … They treated me like I was a criminal or predator.”

Why won’t celebrities drop Lou Taylor?

That seems to be the question for many looking from the outside: why do these celebs hire Taylor in the first place? According to various sources, the controversial business manager remains a force to be reckoned with in the industry.

Reddit threads have also been stoking conspiracy theories. Besides her ties to the Spears case, there are rumours that Taylor also tried to put Courtney Love and Lindsay Lohan under a conservatorship. The business manager is also now linked to one of the most infamous families in America – the Kardashians. Per BuzzFeed News, she was hired as an agent for various businesses under the Kardashian-Jenner umbrella between 2019 and 2021, suggesting that she retains a strong presence in the industry to this day.
