Why I’m Choosing The Capital One Venture Rewards Card For My Holiday Travel Plans

Due to a family emergency last year, I spent many airline miles flying back and forth between the U.S. and Europe. I began to run low on miles, so I chose a the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card (rates & fees) because it offered a sizable welcome bonus and would consistently generate a lot of miles from everyday spending.

The welcome offer on the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card provides the ability to earn 75,000 miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within three months of account opening. Since the card earns 5 miles per dollar on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, 5 miles per dollar spent on Capital One Entertainment purchases through 12/31/25 and an unlimited 2 miles per dollar spent on other purchases, I will earn over 80,000 miles when meeting the minimum spend.

To be conservative, the over 80,000-mile estimate assumes I will earn the entire 75,000 miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within three months of account opening on noncategory spending. The minimum spend requirement will generate double the amount in Capital One miles, based on the earning rate of 2 miles per dollar on everyday spending.
