Wichita shoppers support local gems on Small Business Saturday

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – While Black Friday is all about finding the best deals either online or at the big box stores, Small Business Saturday is all about supporting local businesses.

And one of the popular spots to shop local around Wichita is Delano, where many small businesses showed up and showed out, including a young business owner.

Danielle Harmon, owner of Wildflower Mercantile, helped fellow entrepreneurs by offering space in her shop to promote their products this weekend.

“Every single dollar a small business gets makes a big impact,” said Harmon.

Among one of the vendors is 9-year-old Daisy Wisbey, owner of Daisy’s Donuts and More. She said her only sales goal is lots of smiles.

“I like to make people happy even if, like, I don’t know who they are,” said Wisbey. “I just like to bring people up when they’re down.”

By shopping small, Wichita residents are making connections and helping local businesses continue to grow.
