Wildcats Travel to Seattle to Compete in Emerald City XC Open – Central Washington University Athletics
ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington Cross Country heads to Seattle on Saturday, October 12th to compete in the Emerald City Cross Country Open. The men’s 8K is at 10:30 a.m. and the women’s 6K follows at 11:15 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The men’s team placed fifth and the women’s team placed eighth at the Charles Bowles Invitational last weekend in Salem, Oregon.
Johan Correa and Ramon Rodriguez led the pack, placing fifth and sixth in the 8K race. Correa had a time of 23:59.2 and Rodriguez was right behind him with a time of 23:59.7. Luke Hurd placed 31st with a 25:03.7 time and looks to keep improving weekly. Will McGonigal and Jack Pratapas rounded out CWU’s top five performers with times of 25:07.4 and 25:18.8. Six Wildcats earned a place in the top 50 among 281 participants which shows the excellence displayed from the coaching staff and training sessions.
Hannah Pidduck led the women’s team, placing 30th in the 5K race with a time of 18:32.2. Payton Conover was close behind, finishing 32nd with a 18:32.7 time. Beatrice Le Gore placed 50th with a 18:47.5 time set a new PR. Helayna Bonilla and Heidi Gill rounded out CWU’s top five performances with times of 19:15.0 and 19:23.0.
UP NEXT
Your Wildcats travel to Bellingham, Washington on Saturday, October 26th to compete in the GNAC Championships. The event will take place at Sudden Valley Golf Course and will be a competition among conference teams.
