Willie Ray’s Q Shack to travel to Northwestern Iowa to help flood victims
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Cedar Rapids restaurant owner Willie Ray Fairley says he is taking a crew to northwestern Iowa this weekend to help Iowans impacted by devastating flooding.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Fairley said the team with Willie Ray’s Q Shack will be serving meals Saturday through Tuesday before heading back to Cedar Rapids on Wednesday next week.
“This has been a journey, but we enjoy traveling to different places helping people in need,” Fairley wrote in the post. “This will be our 9th trip traveling to a disaster area. We really appreciate all the help from those that have donated to keep this dream alive.”
Willie Ray and his team have gained notoriety for helping Iowans following disasters, including the 2020 Derecho and the Greenfield tornado earlier this year.
