Wilmington and Beaches hosts Travel Rally Breakfast and Celebration
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – With summer quickly approaching, leaders for our area’s travel industry gathered for the Travel Rally Breakfast and Celebration hosted by the Wilmington and Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau on Tuesday.
It comes as New Hanover County gets ready to kick off National Travel and Tourism Week.
It was an opportunity to celebrate those who work in the travel industry – and look at the future of tourism in our community.
“It doesn’t just talk about marketing strategies that type of thing, it also gives us development opportunities, infrastructure; we will be working not only with the tourist industry itself, but also with our local towns, the county, and the other organizations such as the airport and economic development organizations and chambers– will all be putting together what do we want to be doing tourism wise and where are we going over the next 10 years,” said Wilmington and Beaches President and CEO Kim Hufman.
This year’s National Travel and Tourism Week runs May 19-25.
