Windy, messy travel with rain and wet snow towards Thursday

Showers and gusty wind conditions subside in Upper Michigan Tuesday night as a low-pressure system lifts north of the region. But the break is brief as a Northern Plains system moves towards the U.P. and Western Great Lakes Region Wednesday. Wet, slushy and windy hazards late Wednesday through Thursday — snow chances enter in the mix as cold air aloft sweeps in. Wednesday night-Thursday morning snow can total 3″ or more in elevated terrain west like the Hurons.
