The 5-2-0 Mules ended the first semester ranked #14 in the USCHO Division III Coaches Poll and celebrated victories over NESCAC opponents Trinity and Wesleyan. Colby starts the new year at Castleton’s Bagley Invitational Friday and Saturday taking on SUNY Potsdam, Keene State, and host Castleton University. The Mules have won this tournament in each of the last three years.

Men’s Basketball: Next competition – January 3 (SCHEDULE)

The Men’s Basketball team won two early season tournaments (Colby Tip-Off Classic, Union’s Sig Makofski Invitational) en route to a 7-3 first semester record.  Colby will have two more non-conference matchups this weekend before opening their NESCAC schedule on January 10 at Conn.

Men’s Ice Hockey: Next competition – January 3 (SCHEDULE)

Colby’s Men’s Ice Hockey team celebrated a superb 6-2-1 first semester, with conference wins over Bowdoin, Williams, and Tufts.  The Mules rank third in the NESCAC standings (3-2-0), and return to action Friday at Saint Anselm College. Jayden Grier and Reese Farrell rank second in the conference in goals with six apiece.

Women’s Basketball: Next competition – January 4 (SCHEDULE)

The Women’s Basketball team made their return to the court shortly before the new year, traveling to Daytona Beach for the Florida Sunshine Shootout December 29 and 30.  The Mules split their contests, bringing their current record to 3-6.  Colby will play MIT and Wellesley this weekend before opening NESCAC play January 10.

Alpine Skiing: Next competition – January 10 (SCHEDULE)

As Colby’s last winter programs to open their official NCAA competition calendar, the Alpine and Nordic Ski teams will begin their EISA schedule January 10 and 11 at the Bates Carnival.  The Alpine events will be held at Sunday River (Newry, Maine) while the Nordic competitions will take place at the Rikert Nordic Center (Rumford, Maine).

The Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving teams celebrated a hot start to their season in November and December, highlighted by the women’s program being ranked 20th in the CSCAA poll after defeating Amherst, Hamilton, and Trinity and finishing first in the eight-team Maine Collegiate Invite.  The Mules will be back in action January 11th hosting Middlebury.

Squash: Next competition – January 16 (SCHEDULE)

The CSA adjusted its championship schedule this year, hosting its individual championships right in the middle of the season at the end of January.  The NESCAC bumped it’s championship up as well, scheduling for Feburary 8 and 9.  Colby’s Squash teams return to Mayflower Hill for a few weeks of training before hosting three NESCAC matchups (Hamilton, Williams, Middlebury) from January 16-19.
