Woman files lawsuit against Silver Dollar City, Herschend Entertainment regarding October 2022 train derailment

NEAR BRANSON, Mo. (KY3) – A passenger inside a derailed train at Silver Dollar City in October 2022 filed a lawsuit.

Rebecca Everhart sued Silver Dollar City and the Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation for negligence. The lawsuit states Silver Dollar City failed to maintain the train, causing it to derail. Everhart reported back injuries and PTSD from the derailment.

The Herschend family filed a motion to dismiss the case. A judge has yet to rule on that motion.
