Woman power: How Women Have Revolutionised Trends in Fashion
5 December – 3pm
Fashion is female. The world of fashion and the feminine have a special bond, which goes beyond merely serving as muses for evolving trends and styles; women have been central figures in driving social revolutions.
This event will highlight key moments of major transformations in fashion trends, each tied to extraordinary women.
From Catherine de’ Medici, Madonna, and Michelle Obama to Vivienne Westwood, Madeleine Vionnet, Lady Gaga, and Anna Wintour, we will celebrate the women who have transformed the fashion world with their innovative visions and distinctly personal tastes, delving into the profound impact they have had on the evolution of society and culture.
Some of these women, more than others, have set new styles and perspectives that have transcended the “simple” concept of fashion, challenging preconceived notions and labels associated with femininity. Their contributions have consistently advanced women’s rights and roles in society, championing progress and empowerment.
