Woman says that ‘office jobs’ are the most ‘chilled’ and carefree workplaces, sparking debate

The work culture has drastically changed over the years and employees are burdened with tremendous workloads. While most employees are burnt out and exhausted by their jobs, a few state otherwise. A young woman, Kelsey Smith—who goes by @kelsooo23 on TikTok—thinks that office jobs are one of the best “lazy girl jobs” ever. The woman who works in an office revealed that her job requires her to do the bare minimum. Her experience has been so relaxing that she cannot understand the bickering among several employees. However, fellow employees have divided opinions.

The woman constantly shares in her videos how her work consists of the least amount of strain. In one of her videos, titled “Chillest Atmosphere,” Smith explained how her workplace is the ideal work mood any person would want. Seated on her desk, simply flaunting her hair and checking herself out, Smith seemed to have the most unbothered demeanor. She wrote, “Lazy girl jobs are my favorite.” She added that her responsibilities at work are “sending the same emails, attending calls all day, taking a long lunch break and getting paid to watch TikToks.”

While few people believed corporate life was a predicted disaster, others acknowledged Smith’s lifestyle. @southcaroline0328 wrote, “Girl…this though! Just moved from a crazy retail job to a lazy girl job and it’s the best!” @neena_lux added, “Me at my lazy girl job, getting paid to watch this TikTok.” @julianax228 wrote, “I think I’m the only one who hates this.” @chaimaemansourri2 remarked, “This is me, but I don’t get paid enough.”

Smith shared another video adding to the perks of a “lazy girl job.” She couldn’t help but advocate how it is the ideal office job and is something employees dream of today. Again seated in her cubicle, sipping coffee and very relaxed, Smith cited the pros of her job. “Whoever decided office jobs were miserable were lying,” she exclaimed while revealing that she has her own cubicle where she can just sit around. “I wear whatever I want, get paid more and have a consistent schedule,” she added. It is hard to imagine a job as carefree as hers in today’s time, but many people commented that it is a reality for those who can find it. @lividbonsai explained, “Going straight into an office job may be boring, but going from food service to an office job? That’s a dream right there.”

@yaluvseeit pointed out, “I was so bored at my office job. They gave me one hour of work for an 8-hour working day.” @nwertz101 added, “It depends on the office job. Some are dreams, others aren’t.” Several people believed the office job may not be ideal in the long run. @gamesofthesea mentioned, “Give it a few years. I loved it when I had initially started until I got increasingly unhealthy at 27. Getting a new job saved my health.” @cayfedz6996 wrote, “If you have a busy, I mean busy office job with 100 emails and calls a day, it’s not the same. I’m miserable.”
