Woman wins k prize in Camden while on out on shopping trip

CAMDEN, S.C. (WIS) – A woman who was on a shopping trip in Camden ended up taking home more money than she spent.

The Midlands woman spent $2 on a lottery ticket at the Murphy Express on Bay Lane in Camden, which is right outside the Lowes.

“I though it’s just $2, so I have nothing to lose,” she told lottery officials, according to a news release. “I was hoping I’d win, but not expecting it.”

She brought home $50,000 in the Jumbo Bucks game.

According to officials with the South Carolina Education Lottery, there are three more top prizes remaining. The odds of winning a Jumbo Bucks game is 1 in 600,000.

Instead of spending her money all at once, she told the lottery officials she’s saving it.

The store received a $500 commission for selling her the winning ticket.
