Women’s Basketball Travels to UTSA on Wednesday – UAB Athletics
The Blazers enter Wednesday’s contest 9-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while UTSA is 10-2 on the season and 1-0 in league play. The game marks the 16th time the two teams have faced each other, and the Blazers lead the all-time series 10-5.
The Roadrunners are coming off a 64-50 win at Charlotte on Sunday, while UAB fell to Temple 97-74 on Sunday.
Eleecia Carter led the Blazers with a season-high 15 points and added five assists against Temple. Maddie Walsh recorded 13 points, and Molly Moffitt registered a season-best 10 points.
The Green and Gold shot 42 percent overall but allowed the Owls to shoot 53 percent in the game, including 66 percent in the first half. UAB also committed 17 turnovers which hindered the offense in the loss.
Walsh leads UAB with 13.2 points per game while Sara Bershers is following behind with 10.6 points. Journey Armstead is averaging 9.5 points while Jade Weathersby is recording 8.9 points per game. Rayne Tucker is averaging 8.1 points and Tracey Bershers is registering 7.1 points per game. Weathersby is leading in the rebound category with 9.3 per game.
Offensively, UTSA is led by Jordyn Jenkins who averages 18.9 points and Sidney Love who records 11.1 points per game.
