Wondery Partners With Live Events Producer Mills Entertainment to Launch Live Tours
Wondery is going on tour.
The premium podcast studio from Amazon has partnered with live events producer and promoter Mills Entertainment for a “multi-year strategic relationship” that will see the companies come together to mount live tours based on various genres across the Wondery universe.
The first live offering to roll out from the collaboration will take place this fall with Wondery’s true crime collection Exhibit C and popular podcast Dr. Death, the Laura Beil-hosted series now in its fourth season. The live tour, Exhibit C Live Presents: Dr. Death — A Closer Look, kicks off in November. Pre-sale tickets are now available for Wondery+ subscribers while the general public will have access on Aug. 9. A full list of tour stops, dates and additional information can be found on a dedicated Dr. Death Live website. The launch of the tour is presented by Audible.
The tour will offer live audiences a chance to hear the Dr. Death narratives in person along with expert speakers and interactive discussions. Matthew Shaer, host and co-creator of hit true crime podcast Suspect, will serve as moderator. He will be joined by Dr. Robert Henderson from the first Dr. Death season, attorney Anthony T. DiPietro from the Exposed podcast and Beil.
“Wondery is excited to extend the fan experience into new areas, meeting audiences wherever they are,” said Wondery’s chief brand officer Nicole Blake. “We’re thrilled to work with the team at Mills Entertainment, a leading producer and promoter of live tours, to create unforgettable, live experiences that engage fans and bring these gripping stories from Dr. Death to life in a whole new way.”
Added Mills Entertainment’s senior vp of live touring Simone Gianfrancesco: “Wondery’s boundary-pushing content is incredibly well-suited for transition to live entertainment. Dr. Death brings to light critical real-life stories that connect with listeners of all ages and backgrounds. We are excited to work with Wondery to create immersive live experiences that will transport fans into the heart of these vital stories, and this is just the beginning.”
News of the tour expansion comes on the heels of Wondery’s one-night-only event, Exhibit C: A True Crime Experience Live, that took place at New York’s Gotham Hall last October and featured top Wondery talent and podcast experiences.
