Good afternoon from Sentosa on another fine day. What kind of a day will it be for chess? That is the question. It had been rather quiet in the last couple of games, both Ding Liren D. Gukesh preferring to play it peacefully. That is, of course, very much understandable as a defeat would be disastrous at this stage with just a few games remaining, with the match tied at 5-5. 

Gukesh will play with white pieces on Sunday (December 8, 2024), and expect him to try to make the best out of the opportunity. He has been the one who has shown more initiative, but Ding has been resolute, even under time pressure, which he often has been here.
