Djibril Sidibe, a member of the France squad that won the World Cup in 2018, has joined Toulouse, the Ligue 1 club announced on Friday.
There was no transfer fee as the 32-year-old defender was a free agent since his two-year deal at Greek club club AEK Athens ended at the end of last season.
Toulouse did not reveal the length of the contract.
Brought up in Troyes, Sidibe made his mark at Lille before joining Monaco in 2016, winning the Ligue 1 title alongside a young Kylian Mbappe in his first season with the club.
He had a season-long loan spell with Everton in England and joined AEK in 2022 where he won the Greek Superleague and cup double.
“With 225 Ligue 1 appearances to his name and 18 caps for Les Bleus, Djibril will bring his experience to a young but ambitious squad,” said Toulouse on their website.
Sidibe, who has 18 caps for France, is Toulouse’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of young English centre-back Charlie Cresswell from Leeds.
Toulouse kick off the season at home to Nantes on August 18.
