World Cup’s ‘sexiest fan’ Ivana Knoll takes bizarre swipe at German TV host Laura Wontorra: ‘If I looked like that I’d wear winter clothes forever’

Former Miss Croatia Ivana Knoll has furiously hit out at a German television host and broadcasting company on Instagram after she had appeared in an interview with the broadcaster on Saturday.

Knoll, who has been dubbed the World Cup’s ‘sexiest fan’ conducted an interview with MagentaTV ahead of Croatia’s 3-0 defeat by Spain in Berlin on Saturday night.

But after her appearance on the TV program, the Croatian, 26, launched a bizarre tirade against German broadcaster Laura Wontorra, taking to Instagram to hit out at the presenter’s appearance.

She posted a picture of Wontorra presenting a live broadcast, captioning the picture: ‘Dear Laura, if I looked like that, I would only wear winter clothes forever.’

Knoll also took aim at the television company MagentaTV, publishing a second story in which she told them not to ask her for an interview again.

‘The most unprofessional television ever. Teach your presenters the culture and never invite me for an interview again,’ she said, signing off the message with a thumbs-down emoji.

The former Miss Croatia had become an internet sensation during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after pictures of her wearing revealing outfits in Croatian colours went viral.

According to BILD, Knoll had also contacted the German outlet, writing: ‘I don’t know who this woman [Wontorra] is.

‘But people have told me that she and another woman said very bad things about me today after my live appearance on MagentaTV.’

This week, she was spotted again supporting Croatia in a checkered red and white bikini top, and delivered an interview on the television outlet on Saturday with Stefanie Bolchwitz.

With the temperature in Berlin dropping, the Croatian, who has three million followers on Instagram, stated: ‘It’s a bit cold’ on the live broadcast, before answering questions on Croatia’s chances of winning Euro 2024.

Knoll had also stated that Croatia and France would face off in the final of the tournament before the broadcast switched back to the studio.

Presenter Johannes B Kerner said then made a comment about her attire, stating: ‘In theory, there would also be the possibility of putting something on when it’s cold.’

Cameras then transitioned back to Wontorra inside the Cologne stadium with the German TV host having said, per BILD: ‘We would now simply try to come up with a bit of expertise.’

Earlier this week, Knoll had also stated that she was upset that Gareth Southgate had omitted several players from his Euro 2024 squad, but stated that she was happy as a Croatia fan.

‘I’m sad England doesn’t have the best team selected but as a Croatia fan I’m happy,’ she told The Sun.

‘With [Kylian] Mbappe not playing and all these other big players not playing then we have a bigger chance.’

Knoll’s outfits will likely attract a lot of attention during the tournament, with the model also stating: ‘I don’t know exactly which ones I’m going to wear yet. I’ll probably have spontaneous ideas.

‘Then I’ll either have something quickly tailored. Or I’ll stick the Croatian flag on clothes that I like. That’s what I did in Qatar.’
