World Fitness Project Debuts 2025 Season Overview

Will Moorad is leading the World Fitness Project, a new fitness league that will launch in 2025. The WFP has slowly been dripping out information on its Instagram page and over the weekend it revealed the structure for the 2025 season.

Outside of there being three events, we still did not know how the events would work, how many athletes were competing, etc. The WFP’s announcement over the weekend addressed some of those questions.

TIMELINE

The three events will be broken down into two Tour events followed by the World Fitness Finals. Prior to the two Tour events there will be a Challenger Qualifier.

The Challenger Qualifier is a one-week, three workout online qualifier to advance to a World Fitness Tour. The top 10 in the Challenger Qualifier will join the “Pros” for an in-person World Fitness Tour event.

Each World Fitness Tour event will be a three-day, six workout competition.

Athletes will accumulate points during the Tour events to earn a spot at the World Fitness Finals.

There will also be an online stage ahead of the World Fitness Finals. This will be a longer online qualifier called the World Fitness Trials that lasts one month with three stages (likely three weeks similar to the CrossFit Open).

Those advancing from the World Fitness Trials will compete in-person at the World Fitness Finals. This will be a 3-4 day competition featuring nine workouts.

PRO DIVISION

The WFP will sign 20 men and 20 women to contracts. These signed athletes have an automatic invite to the two Tour events.

They will be joined by 10 “challenger qualifiers” who advanced via the online qualifier.

So think of it this way, there will be the same 20 men and women who have signed contracts at the tour events. They will be joined by 10 other athletes who qualify via the online qualifier. The same athlete could qualify via the online qualifier to both tour events.

These athletes who compete in the Pro Division at the tour events will accumulate points throughout the season.

CHALLENGER FIELD

In addition to the Pro Division, there appears to be a Challenger Division. While details are a little unclear, athletes not qualifying in the top 10 to compete in the Pro Division can qualify for the Challenger Division at the Tour events.

Challenger athletes in the Pro or Challenger Divisions will accumulate points to earn a spot at the World Fitness Finals.

2026 PRO CARD

All of the Pro and Challenger athletes will be vying for a 2026 Pro Card. Only 20 men and 20 women will earn their Pro Card, guaranteeing their spot in Tour Events in 2026.

Questions remain on how the top 20 will be calculated. Whether it is total points from all three events in 2025 or if it is just where an athlete finishes at the World Fitness Finals.

500 ATHLETES

The WFP said there will be over 500 athletes at each competition which athletes broken down into age groups, skill-level and team categories.

The age group divisions, how teams are structured and how many skill level divisions have yet to be announced.
